Sunday School
Sunday Mornings, 9:15
Children ages 3 through High School learn God's Word through our curriculum called Growing in Christ (Concordia Publishing House). The first half of the year focuses on the Old Testament, while the second half focuses on the New Testament. At the end of each class, all the children gather for music time. Each quarter, the Sunday School classes do a service project.

Youth Catechism
Catechsim I:  Thursday Evenings, 6:30
Catechism II: Wednesday Evings, 6:00
For generations, Lutherans have learned the basics of the faith as set forth in Martin Luther's Small Catechism: Ten Commandments, Apostles' Creed, Lord's Prayer, and The Sacraments.  These are simply a summary of the Bible.  When a child is old enough (usually about 10) to memorize and understand The Ten Commandments, The Apostles' Creed, and The Lord's Prayer, then he and his parents meet with Pastor Niemtschk to determine if the family is ready. Catechism takes two and a half years and culminates with the Rite of Confirmation, where the child confesses his faith publicly and receives the Sacrament of Holy Communion for the first time.

Adult Catechism
offered fall and spring
When an adult wants to join our congregation, he learns the basics of the faith as set forth in Martin Luther's Small Catechism.  It is similar to Youth Catechism above, except it is shorter, usually lasting twelve weeks.  If you are interested in learning the teachings of the Lutheran Church but are not sure you would like to join the congregation, you may still take Catechism.  For more information, contact the church office at (512)352-6958.
